How long is the course?
45 minutes of interactive training.
You will learn:
1. How does Fire spread?
You will learn about how fire works and its unique nature in order that you can minimise its risks.
2. How to use fire signage
You will learn about the different signs used in public places and work spaces and what they mean. You will understand how important it is to closely follow any instructions given on a sign and that doing so might save your own or someone else’s life.
3. Common fire hazards
You will experience two different interactive work environments and be challenged to identify 10 fire hazards in each one.
4. What to do if you discover a fire
We give you a step by step guide to raising the alarm, calling the fire service and making sure everybody leaves the building according to established procedure.
5. Using a fire extinguisher
You will learn when and how to use a fire extinguisher, and which sort of extinguisher to use for different types of fire.
6. Testing your learning
On completion of all of the above sections of the course you will take a 20-question multiple-choice test. You can then get a printed certificate to show you have completed the Fire Awareness training.
