You will learn:

1. Your role as the First Aid Appointed Person

You will learn about why the Health and Safety regulations require every company to have a First Aid Appointed Person, and exactly what you are responsible for: keeping an accident record book, maintaining confidentiality and communicating with workers about the procedures around first aid. You will also be given a list of items the first aid kit should contain.

2. Your role in a medical emergency

As well as a step by step guide to contacting the emergency ambulance service, you will learn about the importance of staying calm and in control of an emergency situation. You will learn what signs to be aware of in the person suffering so that you can give that information quickly to the emergency services.

3. Testing your learning

On completion of all of the above sections of the course you will take a 10-question multiple-choice test. You can then get a printed certificate to show you have completed the First Aid Appointed Person training.
