2. Risks and hazards

You will learn how to make an assessment of the health and safety risks in your work place, what constitutes a hazard and how to work safely. We cover all types of risk, including the likelihood of slipping, tripping, falling, fire, how to stay safe while manual handling and using Display Screen Equipment (DSE), and how to safely work with Chemicals and Hazardous Substances and electricity.

You will learn all the different signs that are commonly used to alert staff to potential danger, from fire safety instructions, to Chemical and Hazardous Substances (CoSHH) signs.

4. What to do if the worst happens.

You will learn about the regulations and procedures for reporting an injury or accident in the workplace, and the importance of having an accident book. You will learn what your First Aid kit at work should have in it and what to do in case of an emergency.
