You will learn:

1. Risks to your hearing

You will learn exactly how the ear works and how easy it is to damage your hearing permanently. By the end of the course you will know what the first signs of hearing loss are and have the skills to recognise them in time to stop serious damage occurring.

2. When is noise a problem?

You will learn how noise levels are measured, the noise level that puts you at risk, and legal noise limits. You will learn the best ways to avoid loud noise on a regular basis and sudden exposure to noise above the legal limit. You will also find out whose responsibility it is to protect your hearing at work, and what they are legally obliged to do if noise is at an unacceptable level.

3. How can you protect your ears at work?

You will learn about the various types of hearing protection you can get and when you should be wearing it.

4. Testing your learning

On completion of all of the above sections of the course you will take a 20-question multiple-choice test. You can then get a printed certificate to show you have completed the Noise Awareness training.
