Who is this for?
Anyone who works at height, including above holes they could fall into.
How long is the course?
40 minutes of interactive training
You will learn your own responsibilities for working safely at height and what your employer is required to do to keep you safe, in accordance with the Work at Height Regulations 2005 and the HSE guide to the regulations.
You will learn how to assess the best equipment for all types of work – whether to use a harness, safety net, guard rail, airbag or rope system for the job. You will also learn what to do in an emergency.
You will learn the importance of taking time to think through a job before rushing to get started without having taken the best safety precautions. The highest cause of death, and the biggest number of serious injuries at work is falls from height. You will learn about the different types of equipment used to reach heights, such as scaffolding, ladders and trestles, and gain step by step guidance on how to set the equipment up and use it safely.
On completion of all of the above sections of the course you will take a 20-question multiple-choice test. You can then get a printed certificate to show you have completed the Working at Height training.
